Construction Set To Begin On Monday, November 5, 2018

Press.UAZ Projects set to begin November 5

LAUDERDALE LAKES: (LAUDERDALE LAKES, Florida) — On Monday, November 5, 2018 Broward County will begin a portion of the water and sanitary improvement projects in Lauderdale Lakes.  This project is to replace approximately 70,800 linear feet of water main, 60,900 linear feet of gravity sewer main and 3,000 linear feet of sewer force main in Utility Analysis Zones (UAZ) located in the City of Lauderdale Lakes. These improvements will begin on the 26th Street and 36th Avenue areas of the City.

In 2009, Broward County Water and Wastewater Services began implementing local utility improvement projects called Utility Analysis Zones (UAZ’s).  The UAZ’s focus on water and sanitary sewer improvements and are broken down over the various County Water and Sewer Districts.  The  improvements are designed based on the UAZ areas and the construction duration for each UAZ  project is typically 12 to 18 months.

These construction projects can get messy and Broward County may not be able to eliminate all impacts experienced by those who live and work in the project areas, but our goal along with Broward County,  is to minimize your inconvenience by providing you with as much information on the impacts as possible. Impacts  to expect are traffic issues due to road closures, possible loss of water for short periods, Boil Water Notices and sidewalk closures if applicable.  We ask for your patience and cooperation in making these improvements with our community.

If you would like more information on the UAZ Construction Projects, please contact the Public Information Office at (954)535-2838.
