The Community Garden of Lauderdale Lakes was established in 2011 with 17 residents. The Club has since grown to over 47 beds. The Community Garden Club of Lauderdale Lakes’ mission strives to:
* Provide an opportunity to grow your own fresh produce and plants
* Provide a doorway to rewarding physical labor and fresh air
* Advance Neighborhood improvement and companionship
* Provide a connection to the environment and community
* Provide an educational opportunity for residents
According to Florida growing seasons and the recommendations of appointed Master Gardeners both the Community Garden and Children’s Garden will be operated from September 1st to June 30th. During the operating season, the Community Garden Club meetings are normally held at 4:30 p.m. every Saturday and all members are encouraged to attend.
In line with our mission to provide educational opportunities about gardening and healthy food options the club offers workshops throughout the season in addition to facilitating a host of other programs in conjunction with the City of Lauderdale Lakes and Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA). (*Programs and activities may vary.)
Although plot space is limited and is on a first come first served bases for Lauderdale Lakes residents the club always welcomes volunteers. So if you are not a resident, a business owner, or just prefer to volunteer please complete a Garden Volunteer Form. All forms of service and/or support are greatly appreciated.
