About Vice Mayor Mark Anthony Spence

Vice Mayor Mark Anthony Spence considers himself to be the "Son of Lauderdale Lakes". He has been a lifelong resident of Lauderdale Lakes. He is married to LaToya Spence. They have three children Mya, Mark Jr., and Michael. He graduated from Florida Atlantic University, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Health Services Administration. He is a veteran who has served four years in the United States Air Force as a medical service journeyman. Mark Anthony Spence is the CEO and Director of Paradise Daycare Center and Preschool. This Lauderdale Lakes family business has served our families and the community of Lauderdale Lakes for the past 27 years. Vice Mayor Spence serves on the leadership board of the Ambassador Seventh Day Adventist Church in Lauderdale Lakes as the Director of the Adventurer Pathfinder Club and community service. Mark is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Lauderdale Lakes and has served as treasurer of the Friends of the Library of Lauderdale Lakes. He has served as president of Carriage Homes of Bentley Park HOA for 13 years, 2009-2022.

Vice Mayor Spence is dedicated to and serves our community from the youngest to the oldest, all residents of the Lauderdale Lakes. Vice mayor Spence was elected to the Lauderdale Lakes City Commission in November 2022 and was appointed as Vice Mayor on November 14, 2023. His mission as Vice Mayor of Lauderdale Lakes is to improve the quality of service to residents and build a stronger community that is financially viable, safe, and clean for our families.
