The Lauderdale Lakes City Commission is comprised of the Mayor and four Commissioners who are elected by the registered voters of the City. Each year, one Commissioner is appointed to serve in the capacity of Vice Mayor. Elected positions, or "seats," are held for a period of four years, after which a new election is conducted. The members of the City Commission are residents of the City of Lauderdale Lakes, and serve as your voice in City government. They strive to represent all residents of the City in the most equitable and professional manner.
City Commission workshops are held on the second and fourth Monday of each month and City Commission meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month.
Special City Commission meetings may be held at any time in the City Hall upon the call of the Mayor. Items presented may be for informational purposes, for discussion, or may require official action by the City Commission.
An ordinance is an official, legislative action of the City Commission of permanent nature and enforceable as a local law.
A resolution is an expression of the City Commission concerning matters of administration, an expression of a temporary character, or a provision for the disposition of a particular item of the administrative business of the governing body.
City Commission meetings are recorded live and can be viewed on the City’s webpage any time after the meeting concludes. However, meetings are open to the public and may be recorded on a personal recording device.
The City Commission agenda is set by the City Manager.
A member from the public wishing to speak on an item on the agenda, may submit a petition from the public by completing the designated form and submitting it to the City Clerk prior to the start of a City Commission meeting.
Members of the City Commission make up the five member CRA Board.
